During epidemic or pandemic situation how did our technology perform?
The Covid-19 pandemic revealed limitations to government, medical and infection control management protocols worldwide. Tackling the spread of a virus without a known treatment such as SARS-CoV-2 has become paramount. Virus still present and surviving in waste, and the use ofdistant ‘OFF SITE’ waste collection services for the treatment of biohazardous waste represents a strong risk of external contamination. The Sterilwave technology developed by Bertin Medical Waste played a significant part internationally, by allowing speedy CW treatment facilities to be set up on producer sites to reduce the need for hazardous transportation of Covid infected materials away from hospital sites.
